Tanger Med Port Transfer
Private Transfers for Tanger Med Ferry Travelers
Arriving by ferry from Spain (Algeciras or Tarifa) into Tanger Med? The port sits around 40km east of Tangier city, well outside the centre, and public transport options from the terminal are limited — a private chauffeur transfer is the simplest way to reach your hotel, Tangier city centre, or straight onward into northern Morocco.
Tanger Med or Tangier City Port? Don’t Mix Them Up
Tangier actually has two separate ferry ports, and travellers sometimes book the wrong one by mistake. Tanger Ville, the small port in the city centre, is within walking distance of the medina and handles some passenger routes. Tanger Med, where most ferries from Algeciras and increasingly Tarifa now dock, is a much larger port about 40km east of the city — not walkable, and not served by regular public transport, which is exactly why a pre-booked transfer matters here.
One of the Busiest Ports in the Mediterranean
Opened in 2007, Tanger Med has grown into one of the largest container ports in Africa and the Mediterranean, handling both commercial shipping and passenger ferries. On the passenger side, it connects to Algeciras and Tarifa in Spain with frequent daily crossings, making it the main gateway for travellers arriving in northern Morocco by sea.
Meeting you at the terminal
Ferry schedules can run early, late, or get delayed by sea conditions, so we track your crossing and adjust your pickup time accordingly. Your driver waits for you at the terminal exit with a name sign, helps with luggage, and takes you directly to your destination — no need to find a taxi rank or negotiate a fare after a long crossing.
Where travellers go from here
Most ferry arrivals head straight into Tangier city centre (around 45 minutes to an hour depending on port traffic), but we also take travellers directly onward to Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Asilah, or further into Morocco, so you can skip a stop in Tangier entirely if your trip continues elsewhere.
Why not just take a taxi?
Taxis at Tanger Med exist but queues can be long after a ferry docks, especially during peak summer crossings, and fares aren’t always transparent for foreign travellers. Booking ahead means your price is agreed in advance and your driver is already waiting when you clear the terminal.
Pricing
Transfer pricing depends on your destination and vehicle choice. We quote each trip individually and the price includes your driver, fuel, and standard waiting time to account for ferry delays.
